To see with his own eyes the situation of refugees in Greece and report on it, Eduard Nazarski, then director of Amnesty International Netherlands travels to Greece in early March 2016. He visits refugees on Lesbos, in the port of Athens and in Idomeni on the border of Macedonia.
Each day video footage is taken and processed into vlogs, and video updates. The raw footage goes to news media. Shooting in the morning, editing and publishing in the afternoon. Because there are only two of us we can work quickly and many refugees are willing to share their experiences with us. The availability of the footage was one of the reasons that a major Dutch broadcaster paid attention to the refugee crisis.
